Dr. Ehrenfeld draws on his extensive 20-year experience in emergency medicine and 10 years of  occupational medicine to evaluate and treat workplace  injuries. "Emergency medicine gave me an excellent  foundation on which to build my occupational health  practice," Dr. Ehrenfeld says. "In the ER you develop an  extensive knowledge of injury treatment and  prevention."

Although having expertise in treating injuries, Dr.  Ehrenfeld believes the best treatment is preventing the  injury from happening. "I'm dedicated to working with  the employee and employer to provide a safe and  healthy workplace," he adds. "My role as a physician  includes sharing preventive health information and  educational materials to create the safest work  environment possible."

When an injury does happen, Dr. Ehrenfeld strives to  ensure the worker doesn't lose time away from work, if  at all possible, as he or she heals. "I always attempt to  structure limited duty for the injured employee when it  is needed," Dr. Ehrenfeld says.
